Students gathered and spent the day coloring in the assigned piece. A panel of judges selected the winners and awarded them with their prizes.
These coloring competitions were requested by the community members. We thought it was a great idea – a little bit of healthy competition can be fun and motivating!

Why Coloring Books?
Coloring books can serve as powerful tools for refugees. Our contextualized books provide a form of cultural preservation in addition to a therapeutic activity to aid in the trauma healing process. Our books promote diversity and inclusive learning through contextualization. Every cartoon designed in our book is modeled after a real person in the target community. Marginalized children have very little access to creative activities. We provide a platform for creativity to ensure every child has the opportunity to express themselves.
