Why Picture Dictionaries?

It’s an immediate learning resource. We believe that education is an immediate need in the midst of a crisis. A simple picture dictionary can serve as a solution while children wait for a formal education program.
It’s an aid for trauma healing: Education – even in the form of a simple picture book – can aid in the trauma-healing process and build critical thinking skills.
It’s for everyone: Our Picture Dictionaries can be used by anyone, either in their homes or at school with a teacher. Our books are designed to bridge the education gap in vulnerable communities through informal, contextualized learning.
I heard from my parents and teacher that as Rohingya, we have a separate language. Among languages, I’ve seen English, Burmese but never seen Rohingya language.
After getting this picture dictionary, It makes me sense. For the first time I’m going through my own language.
It’s a blessing day for me because dreams come true in life. I try to keep this book with me all the day.
– Rohingya student, Bangladesh
